How to Use

Your 20-Minute Evening Hair Ritual

Step 1 — Prep your hair
Wash hair and towel-dry until damp (not dripping). For oil treatments, hair can be dry.

Step 2 — Apply your treatment
Generously apply your hair mask, deep conditioner, hair oil, scalp serum, or color (per dye instructions). Work through hair from roots to ends.

Step 3 — Cover your hair
Pile longer hair on top of your head. Place a shower cap or plastic wrap over your hair (this protects the ScalpBloom liner from getting saturated with product). Optional but recommended.

Step 4 — Put on ScalpBloom Cap Pro
Slide the cap on. Adjust the drawstring for a snug, comfortable fit. The face-contouring curve should sit just at your hairline.

Step 5 — Power on and choose settings
Press the power button. The cap defaults to Level 6 / 20 minutes. Either accept the default, press the Smart Button for the auto-preset (Level 9 / 20 min), or use +/- buttons to customize.

Step 6 — Settle in
Read. Watch your show. Listen to your podcast. The cap shuts off automatically when the timer ends.

Step 7 — Remove and rinse
Take off the cap. Rinse hair thoroughly (or follow your treatment's specific instructions — some leave-in treatments stay in).

Frequency

Do not use if you:

• Have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or any implanted electronic device
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding (consult your physician first)
• Have an active scalp infection, dermatitis flare, or open wounds on your scalp
• Have severe scalp psoriasis or eczema in active phase
• Have a known heat sensitivity, hot flashes, or migraine triggered by warmth
• Have a severe heart condition or uncontrolled hypertension
• Are under 16 years old

Wait before using if you have recently:

• Had scalp surgery, hair transplant, or scalp injections (consult your physician)
• Used harsh chemical treatments (relaxer, bleach over 30 vol) — wait 48 hours to allow scalp recovery
• Sustained sunburn on your scalp — wait until fully healed

Critical use rules:

• Always start at Level 6 or lower for the first 2-3 sessions to gauge your tolerance
• Never sleep with the cap on — although it auto-shuts off, attended use only
• Never use while in the shower or bath — IPX rating is for moisture from masks, not full water exposure
• Never use with metal hair accessories (clips, bobby pins) inside the cap
• Always use a barrier (shower cap) between heavy oil treatments and the cap liner to extend liner life
• Check power cord regularly for any signs of wear before each use
• Discontinue immediately if you smell burning, see smoke, feel unusually intense heat, or experience scalp burning sensation

For hair coloring use:

• Always follow your hair color brand's specific time and temperature recommendations
• Some color brands explicitly prohibit heated processing — check before use
• Lower temperatures (Level 4-6) recommended for color use to prevent over-processing

General safety:

• Do not modify the cap or open the housing
• Do not pull on the power cord — unplug by gripping the plug
• Use only the supplied power cord
• Do not use a damaged cap or cord
• Keep away from children
• Disconnect from power when not in use

Care & Maintenance

After each use

Unplug the cap. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before handling. Wipe the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Allow to air-dry fully before storage.

Cleaning the inner liner

• Detach the inner liner by undoing the snap fasteners
• Machine-wash on gentle cycle (cold water, mild detergent, no bleach)
• Air-dry only — do not put in dryer
• Reattach when fully dry
• For heavily soiled liners (oil treatments), pre-treat with a degreasing dish soap before washing

Cleaning the exterior PU leather

• Wipe with damp microfiber cloth
• For stubborn marks, use a leather-safe gentle cleaner
• Never use alcohol-based wipes — they damage PU leather over time
• Never submerge the exterior in water

Storage

• Store flat or hanging in a cool, dry place
• Avoid direct sunlight (degrades PU leather)
• Avoid high humidity or damp closets
• Keep power cord loosely coiled — never tightly twisted (damages internal wiring)

What to avoid

• Never submerge the cap in water
• Never use abrasive cleaners
• Don't iron the inner liner
• Don't expose to direct flame or stovetop heat
• Don't store with heavy items pressing on the heating elements

When to replace the inner liner

The inner liner is a wear item. Replace every 12-18 months with regular weekly use, or sooner if you notice: persistent staining, fabric pilling, reduced softness, or any tearing. Replacement liners available through Aurora Blur for $12.98.
